Pinkie

More times than not, I found my eye being drawn to PinkieNorthrock’s Key To My Heart CGN in the puppy pen. A thoughtful pup, we often watched her in the whelping box observing her siblings antics analyzing what they were doing. She enthusiastically joined in with the fun often taking complete control of the situation or just as often she would settle into a safe place for observation ready to curl back up for yet another nap.

It has been such a pleasure watching young Pinkie come into her own. She has become such a happy-go-lucky, confident, compact and athletic young female with medium bone and medium prey drive. She takes remarkable pleasure and is quite serious about flushing birds and small amphibians from the banks of the pond for both she and her sister Bonnie to pursue. Nose to the ground, Pinkie covers ground swiftly and efficiently when on scent and takes great pleasure in doing so. She loves to practice this skill every day in her fields and woods.

Pinkie recently attended the Belleville and District Kennel Club dog show with her younger sister Bonnie at the end of October 2021, her first time out. She had great fun that weekend with Erik at the end of her lead and was really well received. Her first time in the ring the judge enthusiastically let us know “this is a very nice young female.” At later shows we would hear “lots of potential here.” We closed out the 2021 season on a high note at the Aurora and District Kennel Club dog show in November where we came away with a positive experience and homework to do.

Pinkie is our most affectionate Barbet. She loves nothing better than waiting for the opportunity at the end of the day to launch herself onto the first available lap. She is well known as our little “kissy-face-girl.”

Pinkie in a favourite place

Pinkie has recently passed all her orthopedic and her heath clearances with flying colours. We are very excited that Pinkie’s first litter was born June 29, 2022. Not just Pinkie’s first litter but also the first litter born here on the farm bearing our kennel name Noblespirit Barbets, all with Pinkie at the helm.

First time mom, Pinkie has proven to be an exceptional dam to her pups. She immediately attended to her first pup born like an old pro. Pinkie lovingly cared for and doted on her pups catering to their every whim. The Happy Hour litter was an 8-pack of delightfully fun and energetic puppies who are out making their way in life living in stellar homes.
